Wenn du konsequent bist kannst du Entscheidungen treffen, was getan werden muss. Du wei\u00dft, wo du stehst. Ohne diese Informationen ist es ziemlich hart, Probleme zu beheben oder Dinge zu verbessern.“<\/p>\n

„Morgens gibt es t\u00e4glich einen Ausdruck, zu den anstehenden Behandlungen der K\u00fche“, f\u00e4hrt Cardoza fort. „Wir registrieren alle neuen Tiere, die auf die Listen kommen werden. Die Listen sind wirklich gut, da sie auch auf dem Display der Pocket CowCard hervorgehoben sind. F\u00fcr den Verkauf zur Schlachtung ist es gut, dass m\u00f6gliche Wartezeiten in Rot dargestellt sind. Die Tiere bleiben so lange rot markiert, bis sie klar ist ob die Wartezeit abgelaufen ist.“<\/p>\n

„Wir haben auch das Repromanagement mit DairyComp klar strukturiert. Je nach Tag werden bestimmte Tiere f\u00fcr Hormongaben und Tr\u00e4chtigkeitsuntersuchungen ausselektiert. Mithilfe des Scanners werden Informationen werden erfasst und automatisch in DairyComp aktualisiert, so dass die Arbeitsabl\u00e4ufe m\u00f6glichst effizient sind. Auch unser Klauenpfleger nutzt einen Scanner um Informationen zu erhalten und Daten zu erfassen \u2013 alles wird automatisch gemeldet und in DairyComp hochgeladen.“ Die K\u00e4lber bekommen direkt eine elektronische Ohrmarke, wodurch bereits von Anfang an der gesamte Lebenszyklus der Tiere verfolgt werden kann. „Die K\u00e4lber bekommen neben der normalen auch eine elektronische Ohrmarke. So dass das Tier automatisch erfasst wird, sobald die Ohrmarke gescannt ist, und die Daten in DairyComp hochgeladen wurden.“ Die Software bietet den Nutzern auch regelm\u00e4\u00dfig detaillierte Berichte und liefert wertvolle Informationen, die zur weiteren Optimierung der Effizienz genutzt werden k\u00f6nnen. „Einmal in der Woche erhalte ich verschiedene Berichte per Email, die ich zuvor nach meinen W\u00fcnschen zusammengestellt habe“, sagt Cardoza. „Ich erhalte einen \u00dcberblick \u00fcber den Abkalbebereich, die Reproergebnisse und eine Auflistung der lahmen Tiere.“<\/p>\n

„Auch ein Fehlerbericht geh\u00f6rt zur Auswertung. Hat beispielsweise jemand vergessen eine Abkalbung einzugeben, aber pl\u00f6tzlich ist dieses Tier in der Gruppe der Melkenden, kann ich die Mitarbeiter darauf hinweisen. \u201cYour biggest expense is your feed,\u201d says Cardoza. \u201cYou want that to be as accurate as possible to what your nutritionist develops. So, whatever you put together, you want to try to do your best to get that to the cows.\u201d<\/p>\n

FeedWatch monitors feed use, sales, purchasing, animal intakes and material costs. It also exports files for consultants, generates customizable reports, manages user security levels, monitors chemistry levels and helps with inventory forecasting.<\/p>\n

FeedWatch allows Frank Cardoza and the staff of Philip Verwey Farms to deliver customized nutrition programs on a pen-by-pen basis.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the guys are making the load, it tells them to put in alfalfa, tells them how much to put in, and then it goes to the next ingredient, whether that’s corn or whatever,\u201d he says. \u201cEach ingredient, it tells them how many pounds to put into the mixture. Then, once it’s loaded, it tells them to go to what pen is designated for that night. Our nutritionists get our DairyComp reports and review them as well just to make sure everyone is getting fed, the deliveries are getting delivered when they should be, and of course the inventories as well.\u201d[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner is_fullwidth_content=“false“][vc_column_inner][mk_fancy_title tag_name=“h3″ color=“#84a23d“ size=““ font_family=“none“]ParlorWatch[\/mk_fancy_title][vc_column_text css=“.vc_custom_1528741570999{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}“]ParlorWatch monitors and evaluates real-time information that aids in milk production management \u2014 pounds of milk per cow by pen for each milking, bulk tank totals and other production information.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the reasons I like it is when you’re starting a new pen, you go into the milk room and press the new pen button,\u201d says Cardoza. \u201cThe way I have it set up is I have it in the milk room where the tanks and the temperature charts are. Then, they go in there to start the new pen for ParlorWatch, but meanwhile they’re also looking to make sure no milk went down the drains, the temperature of the milk is where it should be, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n

ParlorWatch also provides production managers with the ability to monitor staff performance in the parlor.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou’ll know exactly how long it’s taking to milk a pen. You know how many cows per hour you should be milking. If it’s going too fast, you’ll need to see why that is, because more than likely you’re not milking out cows like you should. If it’s taking too long, well then you have to look at that because either they\u2019re not doing the right job, or there’s some obstacle there. People always want to do a good job, but sometimes there’s things creating a problem for them. [This helps identify that].\u201d<\/p>\n

VAS software solutions have helped Philip Verwey Farms gain efficiencies throughout all aspects of their operation, and Cardoza continues to appreciate the benefits that VAS technologies provide.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe don’t know what we don’t know. You need to know what’s happening on the dairy, whether it\u2019s large or small.
